Paper presentation

Sofie Craps & Mariana Leandro-Cruz presented the paper in a room that was too small to place all the attendees that were interested in the session. The reactions after the paper presentation confirmed that the skills mismatch in the field of engineering is a hot topic. The valuable feedback to our approach give us a boost to continue!

Workshop

Prof. Greet Langie, PREFER promotor, presented the project goals of PREFER. The group reflected on the most important transversal skills of an engineer. The question "which transversal skills are predominantly lacking according to alumni or industry" resulted in an animated discussion.

In the second part of the workshop, Sofie Craps asked all participants to link 9 real job vacancies to one of the roles in the framework and to evaluate the first draft of the model. The framework passed the test.

Mariana Leandro-Cruz ended the workshop with a questionnaire about (the level of) the transversal competences.
